The ALDABA-WIB Chair (Women, ICT & Business), aware that the high school stage is crucial for vocational development, is delivering talks at several schools in Ourense, A Coruña, and the surrounding area between March and May.

These are aimed at students in the first and second years of upper secondary education, especially those in the “Science and Technology” track, with the goal of fostering an interest in technology and computer science among students, particularly girls. It’s about continuing to break down prejudices related to technology degrees and highlighting the various areas in which you can make an impact by working in technology: health, the environment, industry…

Some of these talks are being given by students from the FIC and ESEI, others by the Cátedra directors from both the UDC and the UVigo, and active professionals from ALDABA have also participated, some of whom are alumni of these universities. In this project, the Chair has collaborated with both the Hello Sisters! group—an initiative linked to the UDC that aims to help future computer engineers in their public and technical development—and the ESEI Student Delegation.

Some of the schools that have already participated in this initiative include the Compañía de María Plurilingual School and the Santo Domingo PP Dominicos School in A Coruña, as well as the IES Eduardo Blanco Amor in Ourense.
