Last Friday, the 5th, the third edition of the ALDABA-TIC CAMP came to a close with the closing ceremony of the second session, held at the Faculty of Computer Science of the UDC. The event featured the UDC’s Vice-Rector for Equality and Diversity, Cristina López; the Vice-Dean for IT Resources at the Faculty of Computer Science, Francisco Cedrón; the Director of Talent, Culture, and Positive Impact at the ALDABA Group, Ariana Carro; and the Director of the ALDABA-WIB Chair at the UDC, Virginia Mato, who highlighted the importance of initiatives like this in bringing technology closer to younger generations and reducing the gender gap in the ICT sector.
Under the motto “Save the Earth,” 134 children aged 6 to 12 participated in a playful and educational experience in 2025, learning about robotics with LEGO, Arduino, drones, Micro:Bit, Edison, CoSpaces, and 3D design and printing—all through a collaborative environmental protection mission.
The initiative, which saw 70% female participation, reaffirms the central objective of the ALDABA-WIB Chair: to foster interest in technology and reduce the gender gap in ICT degrees. From the Chair, we would like to highlight the creativity, curiosity, and commitment to the planet demonstrated by all participants, as well as the institutional support received to make this third edition possible.
