In keeping with one of the Chair's strategic lines, contributing to the high-level training of future graduates from the Faculty of Computer Science (FIC) at the UDC and the School of Computer Engineering (ESEI) at the UVigo, the first series of talks on “Practical Application of ICT in Business” is being launched. This series aims to bring the needs and possibilities of ICT use in companies closer to the student body from a practical and current point of view. The talks will promote the acquisition of the skills, knowledge, and abilities demanded by today's business world, thus facilitating integration into the world of work.
The talks will be given at the FIC and the ESEI over the coming months. The series begins with the talk “How to design an end-to-end data project” on March 12 at the FIC from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. In it, students will learn the steps to develop a complete data project, from data extraction to visualization design. Although it is focused on students in the Bachelor's Degree in Data Science and Engineering, it will be open to all students in the faculty interested in Business Intelligence and data visualization tools.
The series will be completed with the following talks, with dates yet to be determined:
“Challenges faced by a software engineer in a technology consulting firm, with real examples.” The purpose of this talk is to expose the reality of software engineers in the world of ICT consulting, where adapting to technology, clients, and the environment is a continuous task. To illustrate this, examples of real projects will be presented.
“The future of SAP. An approach to the Software Engineering model,” which will provide an overview of ERP, specifically SAP, where it comes from, and above all where it is headed, emphasizing the technological revolution that is beginning and SAP's approach to the Software Engineering model.
